I'm super excited to this recipe because it's one of my favorite go-to salmon recipes. It meets the requirements for every recipe I feature on my channel- it's health, simple, and (most importantly) delicious. This quick and easy recipe is perfect for busy weeknights. It'll take less than 20 minutes and only a few ingredients are needed. The recipe is Kitchen Challenged approved!
I love maple syrup because it pairs well with so many recipes, not just pancakes or waffles. The sweetness of the syrup works with the tangy, grainy mustard I use. Lakanto's maple flavored syrup is definitely a must try! It's great for those on a carb-conscious or keto lifestyle.
To complete the meal, I pair it with a dry white wine (you can use a sweet red, too) and an arugula salad with nuts and dried fruit!
Ingredients
Salmon
2 tbsp whole grain mustard
1 tbsp sugar free maple flavored syrup
Coconut oil (use for searing salmon)
Black Pepper (to taste)
Sea Salt (to taste)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
Season salmon with pepper and salt.
Combine mustard and maple syrup. Add a bit of the sauce to the salmon.
Heat a bit of coconut oil in a skillet over medium high heat.
Sear salmon flesh side down until a crust forms from mustard-maple syrup sauce (approximately 4- 5 minutes).
Transfer salmon to baking dish skin side down. Glaze salmon with remaining sauce. Roast for approximately 10 minutes, depending on the thickness of the salmon.
